Organic Green Manure Biofumigants
Improve and sustain the health and productivity of your agricultural soils with the use of green manure/biofumigant cover crops. Biofumigation is the process of mechanically combining the glucosinolate (GL) sinigrin with the enzyme myrosinase. When these two compounds meet in the presence of water, Alleyl-Isothiocyanate (AITC) is produced. The higher the concentration of AITC, the greater potential to suppress disease, weeds, nematodes, and other pests. Not all glucosinolates are volatile or biocidal. It is great choice for both organic and conventional production.
Caliente Rojo Mustard This recently released blend has 20-30% higher glucosinolate concentrations than the Caliente 199 Mustard Blend. The Caliente Rojo Mustard Blend is used in high-value crops where nematodes, wireworms, and hard-to-control pathogens are a problem.
BioFence® Organic Fertilizers
BioFence® is a 100% organic 6-2-0 fertilizer, derived from a specially bred brassica crop and designed to release a spectrum of macro and micronutrients according to the plant’s needs and to help naturally rebalance the soil for improved beneficial microbial populations. How to Use BioFence®
- Apply a 6” wide band 4-6″ inches below soil surface in bed formation at a rate of 1 lb. per 10 feet of row.
- Lay drip tape and cover with plastic mulch.
- Irrigate with ½” – 1” of water to activate the BioFence®.
- Wait at least ten days before planting or setting plants.

How to Use BioFenceFL®
- Each case contains one bag of dry mustard meal and one jug of carrier oil (two cotton strainer bags provided separately with order). Each bag makes enough to treat five acres. Note: This product is applied drip irrigation. Product application rate is based on 6-foot-center beds; adjust accordingly for different bed spacing.
- Fill a container (a mix vat or 55-gallon drum works well) with water and entire jug of carrier oil. Adjust water quantity as needed to ensure saturation and adequate mixing. Shake oil before using.
- Divide entire contents of meal bag evenly between the two provided cotton strainer bags and close securely.
- Insert bags into the water/oil mixture and stir or agitate for 30 minutes. Ensure that all meal is wet inside strainer bags for maximum efficacy.
- Remove strainer bags with meal and apply the BioFence FL liquid mixture into your normal drip irrigation routine.
- Discard used meal and clean drip system with fresh water or normal practice following application.
- Treatment can be applied 2 to 3 weeks before transplanting or planting, and/or 2 to 3 weeks after planting or emergence and repeated every 2 to 3 weeks as needed.
